Welcome
to our Featured Tequila page. This page will be revised periodically
to feature a different brand of Tequila.
Our
current "featured tequila" is: ETERNO VERANO TEQUILA
Eterno Verano Tequila is produced at Fabrica de los Tequilas Finos, NOM 1472, in the town of Tequila, using 5-7 year old blue agave sourced from both the highlands and Tequila Valley of Jalisco. The agave piñas are cooked by autoclave and crushed with a mechanical chopper/shredder. The mosto is double-distilled in shiny stainless-steel pot stills by Master Tequilero Arturo Fuentes, with heads and tails removed during both distillations.
The three expressons are bottled at 40% ABV using environmentally friendly recycled glass and finished with a natural cork closure. It is said to be made for adventurous souls and anyone who ever wanted to strap a surfboard to a van and head south for some waves. Tequila Eterno Verano embodies the spirit of the classic 1966 surf film "The Endless Summer".
Tequila Connection completed our review of Eterno Verano Tequilas on 15 Aug 2022. All tasting was performed using the official tequila glass from Riedel with the spirit served at room temperature.
Eterno Verano Blanco has a crystal-clear appearance and a light-oily mouthfeel. With a swirl, defined legs are noted cascading down the glass. It has a grassy aroma, with citrus, light herbal, floral notes, and a kiss of agave. Upon tasting, we get light herbal and citrus flavors, slightly sweet up front, followed by a dryness, and a slightly peppery finish of medium length. Tequila Connection gives the Blanco an average score of 80.9 converting to a Rating of Great --.
Eterno Verano Reposado is aged for 6 months in whiskey barrels. It has a light-gold appearance and a medium oil consistency. On the nose, we find stone fruit (cherry), honey, floral, vanilla and toasty marshmallow. On the tongue, we get pleasant stone fruit, honey, honeydew melon and butterscotch notes. The medium length finish presents hints of warm baking spices and light pepper.
The Reposado was our favorite of the lineup receiving a score of 86 and a Rating of Great.
Eterno Verano Aņejo, aged for a minimum of 12 months in whiskey barrels, has a bright-brass appearance and a medium oil consistency. We experienced predominantly sweet aromas of stone fruit, honey, and vanilla along with the essence of the bourbon barrel. Upon tasting, we detected the honey sweetness with undertones of stone fruit, sarsaparilla, and a nuts. The finish is oaky, with a touch of chocolate and a bit dry (medium length). We thought it was slightly less complex than the Reposado. .
Tequila Connection gave the Aņejo a score of 85.6 and a Rating of Great.
Tasters liked the hammered/wavy texture of the bottle as well as the colorful and memorable Endless Summer design on the label.
All three expressions are available in select U.S. markets including Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, South Carolina and Texas.
