Welcome
to our Featured Tequila page. This page will be revised periodically
to feature a different brand of Tequila.
Our
current "featured tequila" is: CASA NOBLE REPOSADO
Casa Noble Reposado Tequila is produced at La Cofradia Distillery (NOM 1137, DOT 111) located in the town of Tequila, Jalisco.
Casa Noble's Reposado is made from 100% blue agave grown in their own agave fields. Mature agave are harvested when sugar levels are high.
The trimmed piñas are slow-cooked in brick ovens, mechanically shredded (using a unique spin-out method of extraction), fermented with natural air-borne yeast, triple-distilled and aged for 364 days in French white oak barrels.
The older expressions have a nice floral bouquet as well as complex flavors including roasted nuts, sweet spices, vanilla, white chocolate, coffee bean, and butter. You can also sense some herbal and dried fruit characteristics. The light charring and the type of wood used for aging really complements this tequila.
In 2021, Casa Noble relaunched their line of organic tequila with redeveloped recipes and a complete packaging overhaul (pictured below). The new Reposado is said to have vanilla, lemongrass, and subtle floral aromas, leading to sweet cooked agave and toasty oak.
Casa Noble's roots date back to 1776. They were the first tequila brand to put "Triple-Distilled" on a tequila label. The triple distillation is done very slowly as not to lose aromas. They use pot stills and each distillation will take around 3 hours and 45 minutes giving a complex but very smooth tequila. They are 100% certified organic, kosher approved, and very forward-thinking with respect to sustainability.
Casa Noble Reposado has won the gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirit Competition, selected as best spirit by the New York Times, Second Best by the Mexican Tequila Academy among other accolades.
Regarding the 2021 relaunch, Maestro Tequilero Jose “Pepe” Hermosillo explains:
"The difference really has to do with each of the steps we take in the production process, that care for the small details we worked for as we created this new iteration, together with taking our time/patience, from the agave which we are using now to its maturation. Selection of the agave is at the perfect time when the sugars are going to be optimal; the cooking (is done at a) specific temperature and time in the stone ovens; fermentation and the specific timing and control of temperature and alcohol generation to a specific alcohol-by-volume; and finally, in distillation, how we are in each distillation controlling the time, temperature, and cuts of heads and tails. All this together is giving us a less herbal and earthy tequila, more notes of citrus, sweet fruits and flowers, and therefore greater balance, becoming even more elegant."
Tequila Connection has not yet reviewed the 2021 relaunched expression. We give the older expression of Casa Noble Reposado a rating of "excellent--". We look forward to tasting the relaunched labels.
